November 28, 2009: Ferncliff Industrial Park Achieves NC Certification

HCPED received official confirmation last week indicating that Ferncliff Industrial Park has achieved the designation as a North Carolina Certified Site.  The certified site program showcases premium business locations throughout the state that have undergone a rigorous pre-qualification process to ensure they are “shovel ready” for immediate development.  HCPED’s efforts in certifying Ferncliff have been focused on mitigating risks for prospective clients in addition to reducing the time it will take to develop and build on site.

November 19, 2009: HCPED Earns Top 5 Award of Excellence in Automotive Sector

Expansion Solutions Magazine recently announced its Third Annual “Top Five” Awards of Excellence.  These awards recognize economic development organizations which have shown exceptional progress and potential in developing key industry sectors.  Expansion Solutions considered factors including strategic locations, pro-business climate, the investments that have been made improving infrastructure and the availability of buildings and sites in choosing these locations.

September 15, 2009: Dampp-Chaser Corporation Earns ISO Certification

Gayle Mair and Roger Wheelock of Dampp-Chaser Corporation invited company employees and guests to help celebrate their recent accomplishment of ISO certification.  ISO registration certifies that formalized business processes are being applied to production, quality and continuous improvement.  Roger described the 5-year journey to be ISO certified, recognizing NC State University's assistance through their Industrial Extension Service.  Congratulations to Dampp-Chaser!

July 20, 2009: Henderson County Wins 338 Job, $30m Continental Expansion

Business and government leaders gathered at Continental’s Fletcher manufacturing facility on Monday, July 20, 2009 to announce and celebrate the brake systems and component manufacturer’s expansion.  The company will invest over $30 million and add 338 new jobs over the next 5 years.  Bill Moyer, Chair of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners placed the announcement in context, stating, “This project is significant because it is the largest manufacturing job creation project in western North Carolina in over a decade, and one of the largest in Henderson County ever.” 

November 5, 2007: NC Named State with the Top Business Climate for 2007

Site Selection magazine has named North Carolina the state with the Top Business Climate for 2007. As revealed in the November 2007 issue of the magazine, research based in part on a survey of corporate real estate executives has identified the Tar Heel State’s overall climate for capital investment to be tops in the United States for the third year in a row, and for the sixth time in seven years.

October 20, 2007: Continental Teves Announces Expansion

Continental Teves announces $8.6 million expansion and 35 new jobs at their Fletcher, NC facility.  Henderson County, Town of Fletcher and Partnership for Economic Development leaders come together to mark the growth.

May 27, 2005: Gov. Easley Announces 110 Jobs Created By New Raflatac Division

RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley announced today that Raflatac, one of the world's leading suppliers of pressure sensitive adhesive label stock, will again expand its manufacturing operations in Fletcher, adding a new division that will create 110 new jobs and an investment of $24 million in the area.
