In 2009, a report produced for Congress by the International Economic Development Council concluded that investments in infrastructure, and workforce training, are among the leading drivers for economic success in the U.S.  On May 6th representatives from each of the key infrastructure providers in the Henderson County area formed a panel to outline current capacity, investment trends, and projections on future demand.  The forum also facilitated direct connections between users and providers, opening critical dialog between business and infrastructure leaders.

Panelists included the Asheville Regional Airport, AT&T, City of Asheville: Water Resources Department, City of Hendersonville: Water and Sewer, Duke Energy, Progress Energy, Henderson County Engineering Department (Cane Creek Sewer District), North Carolina Department of Transportation, and the Norfolk Southern Corporation.  The forum was a by-product of direct feedback from industrial executives, as many meetings facilitated by the Partnership are in reference to increased demand for public and/or private infrastructure.  Three presentations provided at the forum can be found below.
